Hello Friends,

What a great 2.5 weeks it has been. We've spoken with thousands of backers who have had questions about Backerkit. Thank you for your patience as we worked through all of the emails.

• 80% of backers have already filled out their pledge, thank you! If you haven't filled it out, please make sure you do soon.
• All surveys have been sent out. If you haven't received yours please check out your Junk Folder. You can also try to recover your Backerkit email by heading to: https://boirequiem.backerkit.com. If you still can't find your pledge, please reach out to [email protected].

Early Bird Figure

One of the most asked questions was about the Early Bird Figure. It's showing up in Pledge Items on your Confirmation Page, not in the add-ons like you'd expect it to be. It also doesn't necessarily show up until step 3 or 4 of the Backerkit Survey.

Corrupted Data & Ultra Pride Pre-commit Cards

Another question we've been getting is about the Corrupted Data and Ultra Pride cards. These were for folks who pre-committed to the Kickstarter by signing up with their email before June 1st. If you pre-committed with one email and your Kickstarter email is different, please message [email protected] and let them know both of your email addresses so we can verify and get the cards added. If you change your Tier in Backerkit, the two cards will disappear. This is an easy fix by messaging the Help Center, just make sure you change your pledge to whichever tier you'd like first since they'll disappear anytime you change your pledge level, just message us after!

Coins & Dice Clarification

The Big Boi and above tiers will include the 100 Tainted Coins and the upgraded Isaac Face D6 die only. This has been asked in the comments so we wanted to make sure to clear it up.

NSFW Tapeworm

The last announcement for tonight: the NSFW version of Tapeworm, the never to be sold again Kickstarter Exclusive will be dropping in Backerkit in the next week or so! I will send another update out about the exact timing of the launch soon. If you have already completed your survey, there are a few steps you'll want to take to ensure you can quickly and easily get back to the add-ons section. I will have a how-to in the next update so don't fret! 

I did a few test runs. It is quicker to get back to check out and lock in your copy if you have already completed the survey.

Backerkit Opens This Week

Hello Friends!

In light of recent news, The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls Requiem will not feature the artwork of Christine Weston Chandler in the game. We will replace the card with another artist we were unable to work with during the Kickstarter. We will have another announcement soon with more information.

Thank you for your patience while Backerkit and our team were building the site. It will launch during the upcoming business week. We've just received final approval and all agree we want our team and the Backerkit team on deck to assist with any issues.

If you're not familiar with Backerkit or pledge managers, you'll want to keep reading below. For everyone else, just some quick reminders:

• If you pre-committed before the campaign started and used the same email to pre-commit that you did to back the game on Kickstarter, your Corrupted Data and Ultra Pride cards will be in your cart. If you do not see them, please reach out to [email protected]
• If you backed in the first 48 hours of the campaign, before 23:59 (11:59PM) on June 2nd, your early bird figure will automatically be added to your pledge.
• If you are using a mail relay, such as Apple Relay, to hide your email address, you will not receive your Backerkit link. You can try to retrieve your project by going to https://boirequiem.backerkit.com/. While you can click this link right now, it will just tell you that your survey hasn't been sent yet. Please be patient.
• There are a ton of backers, emails to access Backerkit will go out in batches over a 72 hour period. Please be patient and check your SPAM/Junk folders for an email from Edmund McMillen. If you haven't received your email by August 9th, please search https://boirequiem.backerkit.com/ for your link.
• Dick Knots will not be available on the site until later, that way everyone will have an equal chance of getting the game.
• There is an upper weight limit built into Backerkit, if you exceed that limit, it will default the shipping price to $2000. If you do exceed the weight limit, please reach out to us directly as there are better ways to ship extremely large orders than using standard couriers.
• Backerkit will remain open for awhile, you have plenty of time to go back in and add additional add-ons and pay for them. We heard from several people that this was an option they would appreciate, doing this will allow you to pay in multiple smaller installments. We will send another update giving ample notice of the closing date of Backerkit.
• If you have not filled out Backerkit by December 1st 2022, your pledge will be forfeit. Please do not hesitate, fill out your Backerkit ASAP!

Backerkit Walkthrough

In just a few days you'll get an email from "Edmund McMillen" (Backerkit) with your personal link to the site. Once you click the link, you'll be able to start managing your pledge!

The Landing Page tells you the Tier you pledged for. If you are satisfied with your pledge level, click Get Started!

If you'd like to change your pledge level, there is a hyperlink below the big green button. This is only to CHANGE YOUR PLEDGE LEVEL, do not click this if you'd like to add on a second tier. 

Selecting Switch your pledge level will enable a pop-up that will allow you to select any of the available tiers.

On the next page, you'll answer questions about your specific tier level. You'll select the language of the game if you selected a game tier. You'll select your shirt size if you selected a tier with a shirt. You'll select both if you chose one of those tiers.

Once finished, continue to the add-ons.

The add-ons are grouped with Games and Tiers on top, followed by plushes, figures, play- mats, t-shirts, and then fun extras. Make sure you scroll through everything so you do not miss out!.

*Please remember, this is for add-ons. You do not need to select the item you pledged for if you do not want a second copy*

Once you've selected your add-ons or if you do not want add-ons, click NEXT. On the next page you will enter your shipping address.

If you know you are moving before June 2022, you will have plenty of time to change your address and pay any additional shipping, make sure you keep the email with your link so you can get back into Backerkit!

On the final page you can verify everything one last time. If you decide you need to add or remove add-ons, you can scroll to the bottom and do that there. You can also change your game language or shirt size from this page.

Once you are satisfied, enter in your payment and place your order!

You're now all set to receive your pledge when they ship in June 2022!

Remember, keep the email with your Backerkit link so you can make changes if you need to!

Backerkit Opening Last Week of July

A few updates on the progress of Backerkit. Things are moving along as expected and we're going to take this next week to test and adjust. That means Backerkit will open the LAST WEEK OF JULY!

What Add-Ons will be Available?

In addition to all of these: All non-limited tiers will be available. You can get more Pennies, Hearts, Tears, and Blank Cards. And since Javon promised it in the delirium of the last 24 hours, the UNCUT SHEETS will be available for purchase.

There was one very frequently asked question: What about the limited NSFW version of Tapeworm? Here's the deal, just like the limited tiers, we're going to release the game on a specific date. This is the fairest way we can release this limited add-on that will never be reprinted. We will have more announcements about the release date and time in a future update and will Tweet about it as the date approaches.

Shipping/VAT Information

Backers in the US, CA, AU, NZ will pay for shipping upfront. There will not be fees upon delivery.

Backers in the EU and UK will pay for shipping and VAT upfront. There will not be fees upon delivery.

Other regions not mentioned above will pay for shipping upfront. Any fees upon delivery will be based on the rules of the country the game is shipping to.

Glutzahn's Helpful FAQ

If you've been in the comments you know Glutzahn. They've put together a great FAQ that we wanted to share with everyone. Thank you Glutzahn and all of the backers who assist in the comments!

Q: I didn't add shipping/I didn't choose my add-ons/I didn't give my shipping address/What is Backerkit?

A: The answer to all of that is in Backerkit, which is the place where you choose your add-ons, add money for the shipping, can buy extra items, give your shipping address, etc. Backerkit looks just like a online shop, so don't worry you should be able to sort out what you have to do. If not we are here for you!

Please note, your pledge is already in your cart, you do not need to add it unless you want 2 or more.

Q: When does Backerkit come?

     A: Last week of July!

Q: Do I need to make a Backerkit account before that?

     A: No, you will be sent an email from "Edmund McMillen" (Backerkit) with your personal link. This email will be sent to the email used to back the game. If you used an Apple Relay or Facebook Account, you may not receive the link. Maestro Media can assist AFTER Backerkit opens.

Q: I looked in my Backerkit account, I don't see the project!

     A: The Backerkit is not yet open, no worries

Q: How will Backerkit be rolled out?

     A: In small batches over a 72 hour period, so if someone has their Backerkit mail and you not, don't panic, yours will come soon too. Maestro Media will send an update when everyone has received their link and can fix issues after that.

Q: My card got rejected what to do?

     A: Your unpaid pledge will carry over into Backerkit. you will have more time in Backerkit to pay.

Q: When do I get my stuff?

     A: Estimated time is June 2022, please remember 99% of the stuff is not yet produced and the game has playtesting to go through for balancing.

Q: How long will Backerkit be open?

     A: 1-2 Months guaranteed. There will be plenty of warning before it locks.

Q: If I change my address what do I do?

     A: As long as addresses are not locked you can change it. When it is locked later on, you can still contact Maestro Media. As long as labeling and shipping hasn't started, we can update. This may change the amount you owe in shipping.

Q: Is it okay to ask questions?

     A: Always! Feel free to. The frequent commenters and Maestro Media will help you as best as we can.

Kickstarter Payments and Backerkit

We've missed you! A lot has been happening behind the scenes, and we'll share everything in a future update soon. Today we wanted to talk about Kickstarter Payments and Backerkit.

Kickstarter Payments

Kickstarter has been diligently going through and charging the cards of everyone who has backed and is wrapping up now. For most of you this process is complete and there were no issues. For others there have been some issues. We'll do our best to answer those questions now.

My pledge was declined. How can I retry my payment?

Kickstarter is wrapping up their collections so NOW is the time to switch cards and get your pledge paid! However, if there is not a way for you to pay for your pledge currently, your information will still download into Backerkit. You will have the opportunity to pay for your entire pledge + add-ons + shipping in Backerkit.

I pledged to a project, but I don’t see the pledge on my account?

First, make sure you're logged in to the correct Kickstarter (KS) account. Check any other KS accounts you may have. If you pledged as a guest, check your email and spam for a pledge confirmation email and link to activate your KS account. If you are still having issues, Kickstarter's support team is available HERE.

I’m seeing multiple charges for the same pledge

This is straight from Kickstarter: Our payments processor may temporarily authorize your card to make sure it can be successfully charged.

While authorizations generally drop after a few days, this process can vary depending on the financial institution. If the authorization doesn’t drop in the week following a project’s deadline, we recommend contacting your bank for more details about their authorization procedure.

If you’re still unsure about any charges coming from Kickstarter, please get in touch.

Backerkit

I pledged using an Apple Relay Email

If you pledged with an Apple Relay Email or any other type of email fabricator including logging in through Facebook, you may not get the email from Backerkit letting you know that the pledge manager is open. Please keep an eye on this page and on our updates for information on when Backerkit opens. At that time we'll have a few workarounds for you and can assist you further.

How do I know I'll get the 2 Promo Cards for pre-committing or the bonus for backing in the first 48 hours?

If you pre-committed to the Kickstarter before the project went live, and you used the same email address to back the pledge as you did to sign-up your cards will be automatically added.

If you backed in the first 48 hours of the campaign, before 23:59 (11:59pm) PST, your bonus for backing early will be automatically added.

You'll be able to see either/both of these in your cart in Backerkit once it opens.

I pre-committed using a different email address!

As of today, there is nothing we can do. Once Backerkit opens, we'll have access to the pre-commit list and your pledge manager. We can verify that you did pre-commit with one email and then backed with another. Please do not email us until Backerkit goes live as we will be unable to assist you until then.

My Pledge failed in Kickstarter, what do I do?

This one is coming up a lot, which is why we're saying it twice. Your unpaid pledge amount will still filter into Backerkit and you will still have the opportunity to pay for your pledge there. However, we strongly advise you to update your payment method NOW to hopefully avoid any issues later.
